Report of ‘MASTERMINDS’ Interacollegiate & Intercollegiate Fest zero gravity – 2014-2015.

This year students of Commerce Association ‘MASTER MINDS’ organized an intercollegiate fest ‘ZERO GRAVITY’ with the tagline ‘Nothing can bring us down’ based on the theme of ‘ESPIRIT THE CORPS’ on 25th July 2014. The fest was powered by Green World, Maya’s Salon and Academy & Shirdi Sai Pest Control with the media association of BBA.CO.IN

The fest started with an inaugural function. The function started with the lighting of the lamp and with an invocation to god through a prayer song. Sanjana from S.Y.B.Com. and Aiswarya from F.Y.B.Com. hosted the function efficiently. Kishor Shetty (T.Y.B.Com.) the secretary of Masterminds extended a warm welcome to the gathering. The principal and the faculty members were felicitated by the core members. Aishwarya Jhadav (T.Y.B.Com.) gave an overview of last year’s activities highlighting the various achievements. The function was then inaugurated by the principal and thereafter she also motivated all the Masterminds members through her inaugural speech. The inaugural function ended with the vote of thanks by Veena (S.Y.B.Com.).

Following were the events conducted:

  • E-HUNT:-

A game which completely depended on the speed of the internet of the players and which required the players to solve a questionnaire with the help of clues and lead themselves to the hidden treasure. This event was conducted in the A.V. room. The event heads were Kishor (T.Y.B.Com.) and Surbhi (S.Y.B.Com.). There were 21 teams.

  • The Diplomats:-

A team had to travel back to the beginning of the 20th century Europe which was in a state of great distress. Each team had to change the course of history of those times in their favour through the board game.The event headswere Tinu (S.Y.B.Com.) and Siddharth (T.Y.B.Com.). There were 8 teams.

  • Rink Football:-

A team consisted of 5 players and 2 reserves. Lineup had to be submitted 15 minutes before the scheduled start of game. Sideline kicks were along the ground. Duration of play was 15 minutes, semi final and final was for 20 minutes each way. The event heads were Jagannath (S.Y.B.Com.) and Sanal (T.Y.B.Com.). There were 8 teams.

  • Lead The Way:-

Each team had 5 members. 4 were blind folded and the fifth one leaded them to the destination. The team that clocked it faster became the winner. This event was conducted in the auditorium by Veena and Sanjana (S.Y.B.Com.). There were 24 teams of five members each. This event was the most popular event amongst all.

  • Betrayer:-

Every team comprised of 4 members out of which 1 was the betrayer and supported the other team secretly. The team who found the betrayer and specified to committee, completed  the target and won the game. This event was hosted by Alka (T.Y.B.Com.). There were 11 teams in all.

                

  • Write-O-Master:-

A state level online competition of writing an article on the topics Business Management and Team Work not more than 500 words. This competition received 10 entries. It was interesting to find that engineering and BSC students also took part in this competition and in fact the best articles were from them.

On the second day 26th July, Masterminds hosted the same 5 events for  Intercollegiate fest.

  • E-HUNT:-

There were 11 teams from outside colleges. The colleges were Menon, S.M. Shetty, R.J. College, Asmitha Girls College, Shree Ram College, & D.A.V.

  • The Diplomats:-

There were 8 teams from Menon, D.A.V., Shri Ram College, KB College and even N.E.S. Ratnam.

  • Rink Football:-

20 teams participated in this event from various reputed colleges as follows  Menon, Podar, Bunt Sangha, M.C.C., KJ Somaiya, S.I.E.S., A.C.Patil, Mehta college, Chandrabhan Sharma, Ruia, Fr. Angel, S.M.Shetty, Datta Megha, D.A.V., Waman Rao, NES Ratnam.

  • Lead The Way:-

18 teams participated in this event from colleges such as Menon, R.J., Asmitha Girls College, Shri Ram College, KB College, MCC.

  • Betrayer:-

15 teams from Menon, MCC, Asmita, D.A.V., R.J., Patuckgala, NG Acharya, Sarvajank Education Society, Shri Ram College.
